Carmichael Community Update: What's Happening Late August Into September 2026

Hello neighbors, it's Jessica here with your monthly roundup of what's happening around Carmichael.

Local governance corner

A quick note for anyone new to the area: Carmichael doesn't have its own city council, since we're an unincorporated community under Sacramento County. The closest equivalent is the Carmichael Improvement District (CID) board, which meets next on August 27th, along with the county Board of Supervisors, who oversee zoning and infrastructure decisions that directly affect our neighborhoods.

Upcoming events

  • August 25th — The Chamber of Commerce is hosting a guest speaker from SMUD, a good opportunity if you're interested in upcoming utility programs or rebates.

  • September 6th — A prep session for Best of Carmichael, useful for local business owners looking to strengthen their listing.

  • September 18th — Movie in the Park returns to Carmichael Park with a free outdoor screening of Jumanji. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.

  • September 19th — The 7th Annual Dinner in the Park at Jensen Botanical Garden, benefiting youth scholarships and park improvements. Tickets are available now through August 12th.

  • Every Sunday — The Carmichael farmers market is open rain or shine.

Why this matters if you're considering a move

Community events like these are part of what makes Carmichael such a desirable place to live, and they're often part of what draws buyers to the area in the first place. If you're curious how neighborhood involvement or upcoming CID projects might influence home values on your street, I'm happy to talk through it with you.
